Selling my 1984 Volkswagen Rabbit project car. I have a lot of other projects on the go and I need to garage space.
I have owned this car for over 5 years. I have completed a semi restoration on it. All rust has been replaced with new metal. Cut out and welded in. New floors, new rear and front valance. New wheel arches. It was painted 3 years ago. The only body parts that remain to be changed are the front fenders. Rather than buying cheap stamped fenders, I have been waiting for a good set of OEM.
There are so many new and aftermarket parts. Here is a short list of what I can recall right now:
- All new seals from MK1Autohaus. Doors, hatch, hood and windshield.
- Autotech Tri-Y Header, with brace kit.
- Autotech SportTuned 2" exhaust.
- BFI Stage 1 motor mount kit.
- All new gear shift assembly, with short shift kit.
- Complete rebuild of the brake system from the master cylinder back. Calipers, pads, rotors, brake lines, drums, shoes, etc..
- New wheel bearings in the rear.
- All new coolant lines.
- New fuel lines from firewall back.
- Deleted HVAC system. Deleted SMOG equipment.
- ATS Classics. 7.5x13 in the front, 8x13 in the rear.
- FK Silverline coilovers.
- Polyurethane bushings from front to back. All suspension, steering, frame rubber has been changed.
- New tierods and balljoints.
- New control arms.
- 2x Front strut brace. One currently installed.
The engine bay has not been painted. The engine does run, but it was always my plan to do a 2.0L swap from a MK3. So it wasn't specifically tuned aside from the regular maintenance items. The car ran a year ago.
I will include a stock pile of parts with the sale of the vehicle. I have the original manual, and some other documents from the original owner. I have also taken many photos as the project has progressed. All of this will be given with the sale of the vehicle.
I have dumped a lot of money and time in to this project. I realize I won't get this back, and I would like to pass this great opportunity on to someone else.
